Welcome to the kick-off for the Twelve Tools Til Christmas. I know it's hard to believe but there are only 12 weeks left until the end of the semester and I wanted to challenge our school to try some new tech tools in the next 12 weeks.

Here's How it Works:
Each week a new educational website or app will be featured on this blog. Teachers are encouraged to try as many as they can for the next 12 weeks. The teacher(s) who tries the most will win fabulous prizes. All teachers who participate will get something sweet for their time. A participation form is in your mailbox or can be downloaded here. Have Fun!!

Tired of Waiting for YouTube Videos to Download?

Do you ever get frustrated that your YouTube video won't play when you want it to? It just keeps loading and loading and loading? Have you ever had that perfect lesson with a YouTube video and then the interent is down during the time. I especially love when that happens and I am being observed.
Here are a few tips to help with that:
  1. Open the video and let it load for a few minutes before starting it. You can tell it's loading because the light gray line begins crawling across the bottom of the video.
  2. If you go to full screen with the video, you have to wait and let it load again. You will have to wait for it to load again.
  3. Click on the gear button in the bottom right corner and make sure the video is is loading a smaller quality. I would try to load 360 or 240 if the speed is slow.
  4. Try downloading the video to your computer using the steps below. This way the video will now live on your computer even if the interent is down. It will load perfectly without interruption or hiccup.

I wanted to take a moment to follow up on last month's faculty meeting. While I was excited to present My Big Campus, I was disappointed that my QR code activity did not turn out like I had hoped. Here are the highlights from the meeting.

1. This first resource will help with anyone trying to login for the first time.
2. This link will lead you to update your information on MBC. This link leads to a Bundle, which will be discussed more later. http://mybigcampus.com/bundles/my-activity-feed-and-editing-account-info-evans-training---49932
3. This next resource is a video which explains how Groups or your Classes work in MBC.
4. This next video features a tutorial on how you can add files to MBC. Once files are added, they can be shared.
5. This last video shows and explains Bundles in MBC.
6. One last great resource is this Bundle created by MBC. It is a self guided tutorial taking you through the basics of using My Big Campus. http://mybigcampus.com/bundles/mbc-self-guided-training-modules---38316
